Botanical Name: Prunus salicina ‘Wickson’ Common Name: Wickson Japanese Plum

🍈 Fruit Description: Produces large, heart-shaped plums with a greenish-yellow skin and translucent, honey-sweet flesh. Minimal tartness makes it ideal for fresh eating, preserves, or desserts.

🌸 Flowering & Pollination:

Blooms in early spring with delicate white blossoms.
Requires cross-pollination with another Japanese plum (e.g. Santa Rosa) for optimal fruit set.

🌞 Light & Position:

Full sun is essential for fruiting and healthy growth.
Choose a sheltered spot to protect from strong winds.

🌱 Soil & Planting:

Prefers slightly acidic soil (pH 5.5–6.5).
Enrich planting hole with acid compost to adjust pH and improve drainage.

💧 Watering:

Keep soil consistently moist during establishment.
Mature trees are drought-tolerant but benefit from deep weekly watering during dry spells.
