Description
🌿 Acorus gramineus ‘Gold’ — Golden Sweet Flag (Perennial)
Acorus gramineus ‘Gold’ is a striking, grass‑like perennial known for its bright golden foliage and ability to thrive in consistently moist areas of the garden. Its narrow, arching leaves form a soft, fountain‑shaped clump that brings colour, texture, and movement to borders, ponds, water features, and shaded spaces. The vivid yellow tones stand out beautifully against darker greens, making this plant an excellent choice for adding contrast and brightness to any landscape.
This versatile perennial performs well in full sun to semi‑shade, provided the soil remains moist. It is especially valuable in rain gardens, boggy areas, and alongside streams or ponds where other plants may struggle. Acorus gramineus ‘Gold’ is also ideal for container gardening, where its fine texture and luminous colour create a fresh, modern look throughout the year. Its slow‑spreading, clump‑forming habit ensures it remains tidy and manageable, making it suitable for both residential and commercial landscapes.
Because it is low maintenance and evergreen in mild climates, this plant provides year‑round interest with minimal care. Its soft movement in the breeze and subtle fragrance add a calming, natural feel to outdoor spaces. Whether used as edging, filler, or a highlight plant, Acorus gramineus ‘Gold’ brings dependable colour and structure to moist garden areas.
