Description
🌿 Mentha requienii — Corsican Mint (Groundcover)
Mentha requienii is a beautifully fragrant, ultra‑low groundcover that forms a dense carpet of tiny, bright green leaves. Also known as Corsican Mint, Mentha requienii releases a refreshing minty aroma when lightly touched or walked on, making it one of the best choices for pathways, stepping‑stone gaps, and sensory gardens. This charming plant thrives in cool, moist, shaded areas and spreads gently without becoming invasive, creating a soft, moss‑like texture that brings life and fragrance to any garden space.
Because Mentha requienii stays extremely low and compact, it is perfect for filling narrow spaces, softening hard edges, and adding greenery to areas where taller plants may not fit. Its tiny purple flowers appear in summer, adding subtle colour while attracting beneficial insects. Whether you’re designing a cottage garden, refreshing a shaded walkway, or creating a fragrant groundcover around pavers, Mentha requienii offers beauty, scent, and practicality in one hardy plant.
This plant is especially popular for sensory gardens, children’s play areas, and high‑traffic stepping‑stone paths where its aromatic foliage can be enjoyed up close. With the right moisture and shade, Mentha requienii forms a lush, living carpet that enhances both the look and feel of your garden.
