Monstera deliciosa (Swiss Cheese Plant) A statement piece for any space, this evergreen climber features large, glossy, heart-shaped leaves that develop dramatic splits and holes as they mature. It’s perfect for interior styling, patios, or tropical-themed gardens, and can even produce edible fruit in ideal conditions.
- Size: Indoors, 1.5–2.5 m tall; outdoors, up to 6 m with support.
- Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Tolerates some shade but avoid harsh sun.
- Water: Water when the top 3–5 cm of soil is dry. Avoid soggy roots.
- Humidity: Loves humidity—mist regularly or group with other plants.
- Soil: Well-draining mix with compost, peat, and perlite.
- Fertilizer: Feed monthly in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer.
- Growth Habit: Aerial roots help it climb—train it on a moss pole or trellis.
- Toxicity: Mildly toxic to pets and humans if ingested.
