Description
Mango Kent Tree A classic mango cultivar with a tropical twist. The Kent mango produces large, oval fruit with greenish-yellow skin and a red blush when ripe. Its deep yellow flesh is juicy, aromatic, and nearly fibreless, making it ideal for fresh eating, juicing, or desserts.
- Growth Habit: Upright and vigorous, forming a dense canopy. Can reach 6–8 m but responds well to pruning.
- Fruit Season: Late summer (Feb–April in SA).
- Soil & Water: Prefers deep, well-draining soil. Water deeply during flowering and fruiting.
- Fertilizer: Apply nitrogen-rich feed before flowering, and a balanced slow-release mix every 4–5 months.
- Special Note: Susceptible to anthracnose in humid conditions—ensure good airflow and avoid overhead watering.
