Description

🍋 Citron Etrog Plant – Ancient Citrus, Fragrant Rind & Highly Ornamental

The Citron Etrog Plant is one of the oldest citrus varieties in the world, treasured for its thick, aromatic rind, distinctive shape, and cultural significance. Known for producing large, elongated fruit with a bright yellow peel and minimal pulp, the Citron Etrog Plant is ideal for preserves, zesting, candying, fragrance use, and traditional culinary applications. Its striking appearance and fragrant blossoms make it a standout ornamental tree for South African gardens.

🌱 Why the Citron Etrog Plant Is Unique

The Citron Etrog Plant produces fruit unlike any other citrus — thick‑skinned, deeply aromatic, and rich in essential oils. The rind is highly valued for candied peel, liqueurs, perfume making, and traditional dishes. The tree itself is compact, evergreen, and beautifully shaped, with white blossoms that attract bees and beneficial pollinators.

This variety thrives in pots, containers, patios, and open garden beds, making it suitable for both collectors and home gardeners who appreciate rare citrus.
